SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. (AP) — Medical marijuana will soon be a reality in Scottsdale. The City Council has approved the first permit for a medical-marijuana dispensary in Scottsdale.

The Arizona Republic reports the Virtue Center located in the Scottsdale Airpark would supply medical marijuana and provide consultations to patients.

The applicant must next apply with the state health department for a registration certificate and an operating license.
