Cox Communications has introduced a program that allows subscribers to make tax-deductible donations to the charities it supports when paying their monthly bill.

Customers who are current on their Cox accounts, receive a monthly paper bill and pay by check can make $1 donations that go fully to Cox Charities, which benefits youth and education programs such as Big Brothers Big Sisters, Boys & Girls Clubs, Homeward Bound and the YMCA.

The program launched Dec. 1 and is available to 65 to 70 percent of all Cox customers. The company expects to collect about $10,000 per month as customers learn about the program.
