Thursday’s statewide gas price of $3.100 per gallon marked the 11th weekly increase in a row. Gas was up 6.5 cents over the previous week, setting a record for the highest statewide fuel price AAA has on record for the month of February. Nationwide, prices increased slightly to $3.119 per gallon.

“Despite this week’s downward shift in crude price, consumers have not yet felt any relief at the pump,” said Linda Gorman, director of communications and public affairs for AAA Arizona. “This is in large part due to an overreaction to the events that transpired last week, especially considering both supply and productions levels are at multi-year high.”

Gorman was referring to ongoing civil unrest in Egypt.

“Should current market factors persist, Arizona’s fuel prices should level out in the short-term, barring unforeseen circumstances,” she said.

Oh yes, the unrest in Egypt raises the prices. I remember there was unrest in Iraq in 2008 when gas prices soared but it was all BUSH'S FAULT. The Teflon idiot in the White House is protected by the liberal drive by media 100% of the time.

No doubt IF Jan Brewer addresses this, she'll blame it on immigration. Russell Pearce will tell her to.

Gas price increase is a major burden to most of us, we can assume that as gas rice increases the inflation rate will follow too. Series of gas price increase pave way for the Obama administration has relented on the nationwide clamp down on deepwater gas drilling. An offshore drilling permit was recently issued to Noble Energy. Here is the proof: Permit issued for deepwater drilling as oil prices start climbing The federal government is relenting after months of suspended deepwater drilling as a result of BP oil leak and Deepwater Horizon explosion. The choice was made not a second too late. Oil costs and gasoline costs have been especially volatile recently due to unrest in the Middle East.
