Gas prices in the East Valley are up nearly 9 cents over last week, according to figures released Thursday by AAA Arizona.
The price of a gallon of regular unleaded fuel in the area is $3.47. East Valley prices mirrored statewide figures. Nationwide, prices increased just over 10 cents, to $3.53 per gallon.
Pump prices are at a 29-month high as the price of crude oil remains above $100 per barrel, and retail fuel prices follow wholesale gains. AAA Arizona offers fuel-saving tips on its website, AAAaz.com.
