The East Valley Tribune will expand its operations into Tempe and Chandler next year as part of its growth under new ownership.

The Tribune will move from its current single location in Mesa to three sites in the first few months of 2011.

“No one site was able to provide everything we needed,” said Randy Miller, president and publisher. “Circulation now will be more centrally located in our distribution area and this will give us a presence in several East Valley cities.”

Editorial and advertising staffs will be located in both the Fountainhead Corporate Park building at 1620 W. Fountainhead Parkway in Tempe (near Priest Drive and Broadway Road) and in the downtown Mesa area. An exact location in Mesa is still to be determined. The paper’s circulation department will be located at 2873 N. Nevada St. in Chandler along with AZ Interactive Media Group, which is also owned by Miller and his partner.

The public will be able to do business with the Tribune at any of its East Valley locations.

The Tribune’s longtime building at 120 W. First Ave. in Mesa was not included as part of the sale from Freedom Communications in March.

The office space in Tempe further solidifies the paper’s expansion into that market. After the March sale, the Tribune immediately began delivering to locations in Tempe, and has since added home delivery to about 5,000 residences in the city.

“We are working hard to continue expanding our reach and readership across the East Valley,” said Miller.” We have circulation in all six cities and have had great response from customers as we return the Tribune to its role as both the local hometown paper and the dominant paper of the East Valley.”
