Whether you prefer Tempranillo and Sangiovese to Apatosaurus and Diplodocus — or don’t know the difference between any of them — doesn’t really matter here.

Arizona Museum of Natural History will host “Wine, OH Dino” 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Friday, March 8, as part of the Arizona SciTech Festival. It’s a chance for adults to unleash their inner science nerds and enjoy a museum full of fun, food and beverages without any children underfoot.

Wine, OH Dino will feature games, such as “Speed Dating a Scientist” and “Finding Your Inner Dino,” as well as a re-gifting silent auction and food and drink (from Crescent Crown Distributing, Southern Wine and Spirits of Arizona, The Grill on Main and Life of the Party Catering) for purchase.

A cadre of scientists will also be on hand to answer questions, including entomologist Dr. Dawn Gouge, a leading expert on creepy, crawly things; Dr. Melissa Morris from the ASU Center for Meteorite Studies; and AzMNH paleontology and archeology staff.

Admission is $10 if prepaid at AzMNH.org or $15 at the door; the fee includes one drink. Proceeds will go toward the renovation and re-animation of Dinosaur Mountain, the museum’s focal point.

The museum is at 53 N. Macdonald in Mesa. For information or tickets, call (480) 644-2230 or visit AzMNH.org.
