One thing as indispensable to our guest room as freshly laundered sheets? Some literature on all the great stuff there is to do around here.
With the Tribune’s annual East Valley Guide and Best of East Valley publications tucked in a basket near the bed, our visitors pick out their own itineraries. Essential to their mini library is the latest Arizona Official State Visitor’s Guide.
Available now from the Arizona Office of Tourism, the 2013 version features an A to Z guide of authentic Arizona experiences, 14 culinary tours zeroed in on regional flavors, trading posts and gift shops of tribal lands, and a statewide calendar of events.
But we confess that out-of-towners aren’t our main reason for keeping the guide around; we leaf through it anytime we feel a bout of Valley fever coming on (and we don’t mean the respiratory ailment but the strong and urgent need to get out of town and go see something different).
The 2013 Arizona Official State Visitor’s Guide is available for free by mail or as a download from ArizonaGuide.com or Mobi.ArizonaGuide.com, and you can pick up a hard copy at statewide chambers of commerce and visitor information centers. You may also request one by calling (866) 298-3312.
