The results of the Nov. 2 general election will be certified Monday in a ceremony at the state Capitol.
Secretary of State Ken Bennett, Gov. Jan Brewer, Attorney General Terry Goddard and Arizona Supreme Court Chief Justice Rebecca White Berch will sign the state canvass 1:30 p.m. Monday. Immediately afterward, the Secretary of State’s Office will immediately seek a court order allowing a mandatory recount of Proposition 112. Arizona law requires a recount of any statewide ballot measure where the margin is 200 or less. Prop. 112, if approved by voters, would require that initiative petitions be submitted two months earlier than the current deadline of July in election years.
