PHOENIX (AP) — A three-judge federal court panel has scheduled an Oct. 31 hearing in Phoenix on a lawsuit challenging Arizona's new map of legislative districts.
The hearing will be for the judges to consider pending motions that include the Independent Redistricting Commission's motion for dismissal of the case.
At issue in the case is whether population variations between districts created by the commission are too big.
There are two other Arizona redistricting cases pending in federal and state courts.
