  I don't understand how requiring individuals to prove citizenship is an undue burden on the poor/elderly. The fee for a state issued ID in Arizona is only $12, and according to dmv.com "There is no fee for applicants aged 65 years and over, or for recipients of the federal supplemental security income disability payments."

  If citizens aren't responsible enough to possess a state issued ID proving citizenship are they responsible enough to vote?

  I'm not an advocate of disenfranchisement in any way, rather I'm an advocate of people taking care of themselves and not relying on every single government loop hole to function.

  Let me understand the facts straight: 1. A resident(illegal or otherwise), can use a federal form without showing proof of citizenship. 2. Federal law preempts state law concerning voter requirements. 3. States are required to provide federal forms, no questions asked. Isn't this a mockery of our most fundamental basic rights of the citizenry? Maybe we should call ourselves the United Federal States of America, since states rights of sovereignty no longer exist. Could this possibly be obamas definition of moving "forward"?

  Funny how Arizona Attorney General Tom Horne says this when dealing with federal bureaucracy he doesn't like, but when it comes to laws he has personal issues with (MMJ), he bends over for the feds every time.

  It's my understanding that the Supreme Court declined to hear the state's appeal of the strike-down of the Arizona proof of citizenship requirement (which means it's over), and that the question of whether it's legal on the state voter registration is still in dispute.
  Arizona Advocacy Network was a primary plaintiff in the lawsuit.

We met many people who voted for years in other states, and were shocked to learn that they were disenfranchised when they moved to Arizona.

  Corporate interests who promote the myth of "widespread voter fraud" have been unable to cite more than a handful of examples among millions of votes cast in recent decades. When voter fraud can be found, it turns out to be a voter misrepresenting their place of residence, e.g. Mitt Romney claiming he lived in his son's basement in Massachusetts.

  The ruling striking down Arizona's proof of citizenship came from a 3-judge panel on the Ninth Circuit Court, headed by none other than "visiting" judge Sandra Day O'Connor, with one of the three judges siding with Arizona. O'Connor, suffering from geriatric libtardtosis along with fellow "GLs" John McCain and Jon Kyl, demonstrates the need for a mandatory retirement age for publically elected and appointed officials. These diseased antediluvians can no longer perform their duties under their presumed stance of "conservatives", and should immediately retire or switch political affiliations to the Democratic Party.
