A federal judge is declining to allow Costa Rica and Chile to file legal briefs in support of a challenge to Arizona's illegal immigration law.

U.S. District Judge Susan Bolton said in an order Thursday that the two countries missed a July deadline to file "friend of the court" briefs in the case filed by civil rights groups and other plaintiffs.

And she says the countries' identical motions "provide no assistance to the court."

Key parts of the law have already been put on hold by Bolton in a ruling in a separate challenge filed by the U.S. Department of Justice. That ruling is now on appeal.

"to allow Costa Rica and Chile" -- Hello! This is state and federal law, NOT WORLD COURT law. I have a great idea were they can stow all that paperwork that's now wasted.....
