ANCHORAGE, Alaska - Sarah Palin indirectly countered politicians trying to tie her political material to the weekend shooting in Arizona that left six people dead and critically wounded Rep. Gabrielle Giffords.
Conservative talk show host Glenn Beck on Monday read what he said was the tea party favorite's e-mail to him in which she said she hates violence and war.
According to Beck, Palin said: "Our children will not have peace if politicos just capitalize on this to succeed in portraying anyone as inciting terror and violence."
Palin last spring targeted Giffords' district as one of 20 that should be taken back. Palin has been criticized for marking each district with the cross hairs of a gun sight.
Her aides did not immediately respond to an e-mail.

Sometimes I feel like someone has one foot nailed to the floor the way any news article is used in these blogs to rehash the same old lines of vitriolic banter. Everyone has a right to their opinions, but I feel insulted when they don't address the issue and perpetuate the same old attacks against those they disagree with. I was taught to be aware that when you point a finger of criticism at someone else, the rest of the fingers of the hands are also pointing back at you. So maybe we all ought to take a deeper breath of fresh air before jumping onto these blogs so hatefully and look at ourselves first? "Let he who is spotless cast the first stone."
