And yet, the continuing and sole policy is "cut taxes and they will come"...Hey! Guess what? Our shortsighted politicos can cut taxes to zero and they still won't come because there is nothing inherently attractive about a state which can't manage itself in the areas of education, healthcare, fiscal responsibility nor control its legislative irresponsibility.

Oh! Let's have a state gun...that'll create lots of high paying jobs with benefits.

The two interesting quotes here for Arizona are:

"What's really making a difference is that men here are paid so little, relatively speaking."

    and:

"The BLS report also says that the occupations generally where women and men are most equal in wages are office and administrative support positions. There, the median salary of women is more than 93 percent that of men."

which translates to what everyone knows that's been looking for work:

Arizona = a large percentage of low-paying job opportunities

    Hints for legislature:

    1) You need to adopt policies that can attract higher-skilled labor that has higher-wage job positions

    2) You need to specifically adopt policies that will create a labor pool that can handle and DO these higher-skilled jobs, which means you need to tackle the educational deficiencies that are within our schools by funding education from the cellar that it's currently in

    3) You need to realize that until you provide the labor and educational opportunities that companies seek for their employees and their families in order for them to be willing to bring their companies here, you will not attract high-paying jobs to the state

It's amazing how academia can make a proverbial "mountain out of a mole hill" & overgeneralize about nothing with the disparity between men & women salaries. For all things to be equal, we should be in a socialistic, communistic, fascist society where slavery of the proletariat is the norm. How about the 325,000 hardcore high school, college grad & middleaged American workers who dropped off the BLS monthly unemployment figures last month, hmmmm? Now go figure their "salaries" & wage disparity based on gender...LOL!!!
