The Arizona Capitol Museum will celebrate the 100th anniversary of the Arizona Constitution with the opening of a new exhibit, “We the People of Arizona ...”

The exhibit, opening 9 a.m. Thursday, will include a rare display of the original signed state Constitution as well as the document appointing Arizona’s first territorial governor, John Noble Goodwin.

“This is a fantastic, one-time-only opportunity for Arizonans to view two of our state’s most important founding documents,” said Secretary of State Ken Bennett.

At 2 p.m., Bennett, Gov. Jan Brewer and other dignitaries will commemorate the centennial of Arizona’s Constitutional Convention.

The exhibit also includes an interactive, multimedia display highlighting a century of amendments to the state Constitution and key events in Arizona’s statehood.
