DOUGLAS - Prosecutors in Cochise County have filed first-degree murder charges against a 12-year-old boy accused of shooting his mother to death.
County Attorney Ed Rheinheimer also asked a juvenile court judge to transfer the case to adult court, but says he's keeping his options open and may allow the case to proceed in juvenile court.

The boy's name hasn't been released.
Cochise County sheriff's spokeswoman Carol Capas says the boy was arrested Friday after getting in an argument with his mother and then opening fire, killing her.
Arriving deputies found him standing next to the road in front of the family home just outside Douglas and took him into custody without incident.
