Detectives from the Glendale Police Department Violent Crimes Squad are requesting assistance from the public in locating the suspect from a shooting which occurred at about 3:45 p.m. Tuesday, March 4.
Officers were dispatched to an apartment complex in the 6700 block of N. 45th Avenue after numerous callers reported shots fired and a person shot. Officers located the victim, an adult male, who was suffering from a gunshot wound to his upper body. He was transported to a local trauma center for treatment of life-threatening wounds where he remains hospitalized in stable condition.
The investigation that followed led to the identity of the shooter, Joshua Canas. Canas is described as Hispanic male, 5’9” tall, weighing 180 pounds. He has black hair that is shaved, brown eyes and numerous tattoos. Detectives consider him to be armed and dangerous.
