Interior Secretary Ken Salazar and other dignitaries will dedicate Arizona's first commercial-scale wind energy farm Oct. 12 in Navajo County between Holbrook and Heber.

The Dry Lake Wind Power Project is expected to generate enough electricity to serve more than 15,000 homes. Salt River Project will purchase all of the energy for use by its customers in the metro Phoenix area.

The wind farm is composed of 30 turbines standing nearly 400 feet tall. The 6,000-acre facility is located on private, state and federal land.
