It looks like Gov. Jan Brewer will have to pick a new chief of staff.
The Arizona Board of Regents says current Brewer Chief of Staff Eileen Klein is the finalist for hiring as regents’ president. That’s the top staff position for the board that oversees the state university system.
The board says its presidential search committee has authorized contract negotiations to begin with Klein and that the full board is expected to vote on a contract for Klein in December.
Klein is a former legislative aide who became Brewer’s budget director in 2009. She was elevated to chief of staff later that year.
