"Sacred Fire".......come on now. The reason these activists are making an issue out of this measly campfire has nothing to do with "indigenous religion" at all.
This is just another "anti-US Forest Service" photo op for these activists since the Supreme Court of the United States squashed the "gray water" snow-making case against Snow Bowl Ski Resort. The local native Indian tribes have been up in arms about the San Francisco Peaks since before the 1900's. Old President McKinley declared the Peaks to be a special Forest Reserve and then they became part of the Coconino National Forest way, way back in 1908....104 years ago for goodness sake. How many activists have been around since 1908....lol.
So the activists find a sympathetic ...Associated Press reporter...who writes up a story with a photo of a "sad native Indian women" looking forlornly at the 24" "sacred fire" as a US Forest Service Ranger spritzes it out....and it gets picked up by every ....Liberal Newspaper and TV Channel across America.
I wouldn't be surprised if Obama didn't get involved seeing that there may be a couple-three native Indian votes he hasn't nailed down in November.
Yup, old Obama will ..........order the US Forest Service to ignore the huge Forest Fire Danger and allow "our native Indian brothers and sisters to practice their religion"......................OR WORDS TO THAT EFFECT (WE HAVE HEARD THEM SO MANY TIMES THAT WE HAVE THEM MEMORIZED..............[wink]).
