A basic digital photography class will be held at Central Arizona College, taught by local freelance photographer Jim Cowlin through the college’s community education program on Nov. 17 from 5 to 8 p.m.

The class is designed for local community members to learn the basics of digital photography, including tips on lighting and composition. Those who sign up for the class should bring their own camera and instruction booklet to class. The cost of the class is $25.

Cowlin is a freelance photographer base in Oracle. For 30 years, he has travelled the U.S. taking pictures of the Western landscapes and specializes in the production of fine art prints. Currently, he is documenting U.S. Route 89 between Canada and Mexico, photographing landscape of the West from the Rocky Mountains, across the Colorado Plateau and into the arid mountains and valleys of the Southwestern Desert.

For more information about CAC’s Community Education program, or to register for this class, please contact Muriel Thomas by email at muriel.thomas@centralaz.edu or by phone at (520) 494-6616.
