TUCSON - The Civil Air Patrol says the wreckage of a plane that went missing on a flight from eastern Arizona to Tucson has been found and there are no apparent survivors.

Major James Nova of the Civil Air Patrol says a team from the Pima County Sheriff's Office arrived at the crash site on Saturday morning. The single-engine Cessna 182 had crashed into the side of a cliff about 15 miles southwest of Tucson and was destroyed.

Only the pilot was on board on the flight from San Simon to Continental Airport outside Tucson. A body has not yet been recovered.

The Civil Air Patrol began searching for the missing plane on Friday afternoon. Using cell phone tracking technology they narrowed the search area and discovered wreckage at about 7:30 p.m.
