Arizona Attorney General Terry Goddard is urging President Barack Obama to intensify the effort to defeat the Mexican drug cartels which he says are threatening U.S. border security.
In a letter sent Thursday to Omaba, Goddard notes that the 22,700 cartel-related murders south of border since 2007 exceed total military and civilian casualties in the nine-year-old Afghanistan war.
Goddard says the federal response to the growing security threat in Mexico pales in comparison. He says the U.S. is currently spending $12 billion a month to fight in Iraq and Afghanistan, but less than one percent of that amount on border security and the cartels.
Goddard is asking Obama for a major initiative aimed at taking down the cartel leaders.

Good luck with that Terry. Obama will probably grant them amnesty and make the cartels U.S. citizens. So get out from under Obama's desk and come up with something original that will work and doesn't involve the feds.

"22,700 cartel-related murders south of border since 2007" -- Gee, "King" Obama, does that sound "secure" to you?
