Gov. Jan Brewer may see Wednesday's court ruling as a setback. But she is using it as a fundraising opportunity for her party.

Within hours of the decision, the Republican Governors Association sent out an e-mail urging recipients to send $100, $50, $25, $10 "or whatever you can" to the organization.

"The RGA is the only organization exclusively dedicated to electing governors like me who are not afraid to do what it takes to protect our citizens and make our borders safe," Brewer said in the e-mail.

"The RGA helps governors like me who are willing to tell the federal government when ‘enough is enough. Simply put, the RGA is a key partner and with me on the frontlines."

In her message, Brewer said while the ruling is disappointing, it is not the end of the case.

"We plan to appeal the court's ruling," she said. "I remain confident we will ultimately prevail."

But the governor said that donors need to send money for the larger national fight.

"We know liberals in Washington, D.C. and throughout the country will continue to do everything possible to distort what our law does and smear anyone who endorses it, which is why it is vital you support the RGA," Brewer wrote.
